JKG Group Implements Disaster Recovery Plan
BOCA RATON, Fla. - JKG Group has developed a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure its ability to serve its customers during hurricane season as well as in other emergency conditions.
"The experiences of the past several years have taught us a great deal about what to do before, during and after hurricanes and situations of similar severity," says Michael Woodring, Chief Operating Officer of JKG Group. "We are exceptionally well-prepared in all aspects of our operations."
JKG's plans incorporate several key elements:
- Back-up Power - In 2006, JKG acquired a dedicated 350 kilowatt generator, which provides enough capacity to power the company's entire main production facility and all of its equipment. JKG's three warehouse facilities are backed up by dedicated electrical generators that will allow the continuation of services.
- Communications - JKG's phone, e-mail and internet infrastructure is housed in a certified data center that has multiple levels of redundancy in both electrical power generation and data conductivity.
- Data Integrity JKG Group's data is housed in a certified data center with level 5 RAID server arrays. In addition to the redundancy of this system, server back-ups are performed daily.
- Supply Chain and Production In the unlikely event that the commercial transportation of supply chain goods is interrupted in the vicinity of JKG Group's production facility, the company has established outsource partners who can manufacture and distribute on its behalf.
The JKG Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Recovery Plan also includes contingencies for tornadoes, fire, hazardous material spills and other emergencies. "We believe a company that is ready for potential disasters will certainly have an upper hand in meeting the needs of its employees and customers if such an incident should occur," Woodring says.
