What does "How It Gets Done" mean?

Our vision is to enable our customers to maximize their success by consistently delivering creative, intelligent solutions with speed and agility. Our mission is to understand our customers' unique challenges and opportunities - and then to focus all of our experience, energy and expertise on helping them to accomplish their goals.

JKG executes the outcomes - both tangible and intangible - needed to fulfill our customers' objectives by utilizing our robust infrastructure encompassing four divisions and more than 20 distinct competencies. Are JKG's customers concentrated in a particular industry?

JKG's solutions are applicable to all industries. Our customers include leading companies in travel and tourism, hospitality, banking and finance, security, consumer products and services, retailing, publishing, higher education, health care, utilities, entertainment and many other industries.

Does JKG have a disaster preparedness and recovery plan?

JKG Group has developed and implemented a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure our ability to serve our customers in the face of a wide variety of emergency conditions. The plan encompasses several key elements:
  • Back-up Power - A dedicated 350 kilowatt generator provides enough capacity to power the company's entire main production facility and its equipment. Warehouse facilities are backed up by dedicated electrical generators.
  • Communications - JKG's phone, e-mail and internet infrastructure is housed in a certified data center with multiple levels of redundancy.
  • Data Integrity JKG Group's data is housed in a certified data center with level 5 RAID server arrays. Server back-ups are performed daily.
  • Supply Chain and Production JKG has established outsource partners who can manufacture and distribute on its behalf.
The JKG Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Recovery Plan also includes contingencies for tornadoes, fire, hazardous material spills and other emergencies.

Production Division FAQs

What are JKG's commercial printing capabilities?

The JKG Group offers a full spectrum of printing capabilities to meet our clients' requirements. We are called upon daily to produce a wide variety of jobs from one-color through eight-color marketing materials with complex finishing requirements. The printing and binding operation of The JKG Group is uniquely versatile in that it encompasses both large- and small-format printing and finishing equipment and expertise to meet our clients' needs. Our experienced production management team plans and supervises each job from start to finish. This enables our customers to benefit from the most cost-effective and time-efficient methods to produce their work.

Can JKG meet my company's needs for custom variable data printed materials?

JKG Group has been a leader in the industry for eight years in our development and use of our proprietary on-line custom variable printing and web-to-order software. We currently process thousands of orders a month using our software and produce these jobs entirely within our production division.

One of JKG Group's significant competitive advantages is that we will customize a software application to meet the specific needs of our clients. As part of this process, we take the time to discover all of our clients' needs and business rules and develop custom solutions written to deliver the most targeted content to the right audience.

What expertise does JKG have with Print-On-Demand?

The phrase Print-On-Demand (POD) encompasses many of the solutions we offer for communications whose volume or content does not lend itself well to the conventional "print and distribute" model. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Versioned content (multiple copies of a customized original)
  • Variable content (one-to-one)
  • Offset POD
  • Digital Color POD
  • Black and white (xerographic) POD
  • Imprint (variable or versioned content) on static inventory
  • Digital large-format sign printing

JKG Group's Print-On-Demand capabilities accommodate order quantities that range from single pieces upwards. Repetitive POD orders can be made available online (web-to-print). Ongoing programs (such as lead fulfillment) can be integrated with existing systems and automated, while individual campaigns can be managed internally by the JKG team.

What are JKG's document reproduction capabilities?

The JKG Group's document reproduction division has a full complement of Xerox DocuTech and DocuColor equipment, plus its own bindery. As not all jobs are appropriate for the print facility, this division provides important strategic print solutions to our clients, such as personalized letters, white papers and product manuals.

Our printing facility and fulfillment warehouse work together, providing a complete print management solution. As inventory reaches replenishment levels, for example, a reorder can be triggered with the printing facility.

Logistics Division FAQs

How do you utilize technology in your warehouse operations?

JKG Group utilizes a proprietary, web-based Warehouse Management System that facilitates the secure transmission of order information to our warehouse facilities in real-time over the Internet. Our warehouses are networked via fiber connection and integrated seamlessly with worldwide shipping and tracking systems offered by all major carriers.

To support our customers' goals and objectives, JKG has developed and/or customized multiple software applications, including:
  • Fulfillment On-line - a web-based Order Management System that allows us to create customized branded websites for our clients - enabling them to view inventories, enter and approve orders, track orders and generate reports
  • E-Fulfillment Pro - a Warehouse Management System that supports set-up of customer inventory, receiving, picking, kitting, shipping and reporting
  • Transportation Management System - A web-based, multi-carrier application, enabling us to utilize multiple carriers in a single system, set up specific rules for each client with unique criteria and generate reports for our customers
What are your reporting capabilities to show how materials are tracked, stored and shipped?

Once items of any kind are received into our Warehouse Management System, they can be requested and distributed on an as-needed basis. All activity, including inventory movements and tracking information, is recorded and stored in our database and can be incorporated into detailed reports and to trigger reorders. Usage reports are analyzed to determine optimum order quantities and to reduce obsolescence.

Are you able to distribute products to multiple locations?

The JKG Group is skilled in managing distribution to multiple delivery points. We have customized our Transportation Management System to manage the uploading and batch processing of customers' lists. The lists are address corrected prior to batch processing to ensure accurate delivery and minimize additional freight charges.

In addition, after the project has been shipped, we have the ability to supply the corrected shipping file containing the list with all tracking numbers attached. We can provide an "exception" report which would list all packages not delivered. We perform this function regularly for domestic as well as international shipments, including the preparation of all country-specific customs documentation.

Does JKG have "in house" capabilities in kitting and fulfillment?

Kitting and fulfillment are among JKG's core competencies. We have extensive capabilities for handling projects of all sizes that are either program related (pick and packing of individual orders) as well as project (kitting) related. Our space is configurable to handle large projects and can be expanded on demand.

Technology Division FAQs

Does JKG provide an Internet-based print management system that supports commercial print, labels, digital on-demand and promotional printing?

We offer a web-based printing system. It is used extensively for stationery, labels, commercial print, digital on-demand and promotional printing.

Do you have the capability to provide custom-branded web interfaces and other custom programming?

A certain degree of branding is part of our standard offering (i.e., logo, colors, etc.). If more branding or customization is required, we have a full-time staff of programmers who can provide those services.

What is the current degree of integration of JKG's computer systems across all of its locations?

The systems we have developed in-house are web-based, so they can be integrated to any location via the Internet. Additionally, all third-party software applications can be accessed from any location.

Does JKG have an electronic database with intelligence to manage requisition processing, customer service, inventory management and warehouse distribution process?

Our print management and inventory management systems are built on relational databases. While the intelligence to manage many tasks (requisition processing, inventory management, warehouse distribution, etc.) is already built into our software, we can provide virtually any additional information via custom reports and queries on that data.

Is the information refreshed at least daily with data that is current as of that business day?

All information in these systems is real-time.

Does your system provide daily inventory and production data for all distribution, production and shipping information across all product lines?

We provide standard inventory, work-in-progress, usage and billing reports with the ability to add custom reports as needed. All reports, custom and standard, can be printed or downloaded at any time for further manipulation.

What major system changes or enhancements have you implemented?

System changes are applied gradually and seamlessly to increase efficiency, to improve reliability and security and to respond to our customers' needs. Though we make hundreds of such improvements, we keep major, sudden changes to a minimum. This approach virtually eliminates the need to constantly retrain our customers and end-users.

What is your data back-up policy? Which functions have access to on-line and stored data? How secure is on-line information from outside sources?

All of our data is backed-up on a daily basis offsite via a secure Virtual Private Network. The CTO and top-level network managers are the only personnel with full access to on-line and stored data. All other data is password protected and available only to the degree to which it is needed (i.e., job information to a CSR). All on-line information is secure from outside sources, protected by a firewall and password authentication.

What kinds of data file types you are able to accept?

We accept every common database file format, including but not limited to, comma or tab delimited text, fixed-length text, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, DBF and XML.

What resources does JKG dedicate to research, development and technology improvements?

We design our systems to be maintained at the user level whenever possible. This allows us to dedicate approximately 60-70% of our technology division resources to research, development and technology improvements.
